Transitions and the Biggest Month Yet for Epic

Thank you to all who joined our IS & RESO Open Forum last Thursday. During the Forum, I shared the news departure of John Milne, M.D., as SVP of RESO. A nationwide executive search for a permanent executive leader fo the Real Estate function for Providence. Andrew Haslam, VP fo Real Estate, is taking over interim RESO leadership duties. We appreciate John’s leadership and contributions over the past years.

On Thursday, we also discussed the COVID-19 crisis in India. Our thoughts, prayers, and support go to our PGC caregivers as they look after their own safety and the health of their family and friends during this difficult time. We will continue to closely monitor the situation.

I want to again acknowledge the hard and groundbreaking work led by our IS Clinical Applications & Revenue Cycle team as they prepare for the history-making go-live of Epic for Orange County/High Desert (OCHD) on May 15. We look forward to sharing newsd of our go-live success and the early wins from moving to a single electronic health record!

I have had the chance over the past couple weeks to record several conversations with Providence leaders and partners that I encourage you to check out. A couple weeks back, Murali Krishna, SVP/Country Manager, Providence Global Center (PGC) and I had the opportunity to talk with Rod Hochman, M.D., our President & CEO. We provided a system-level update on our IS strategy and just how far PGC has come, now that it has a 300-and-growing team of caregivers and is beginning to drive innovation. We also recorded my seventh Fireside Chat with our EVP/Chief Advocacy Officer Ali Santore. She had lots to share, including praise for IS & RESO’s support of the WE ACT carbon negative and sustainability initiatives, as well as interesting insight about how Providence shapes and pursues the policy positions we take with Federal and state agencies.

Finally, happy Mother’s Day to all our IS & RESO moms and all the strong women supporting young people and families everywhere, mothers or not.

Thank you.
