B.J. Moore Sits Down with Chief Advocacy Officer Ali Santore for Fireside Chat #7

Following last month’s sixth Fireside Chat with Providence President & CEO Rod Hochman, M.D., EVP/CIO B.J. Moore sat down with Ali Santore, EVP & Chief Advocacy Officer.

Over the course of the conversation, Ali shares her career journey that led her from her roots in Oregon, to supporting a legislator in Washington, D.C., how she stumbled into health care policy work, and her eight years at Providence. She even offers some great career advice.

Please tune in to this great conversation that gives insights into how we build relationships and influence with government and policymakers at the Federal and state capitol level, since the government is our most major payor and regulator. Her team also drives our environmental stewardship work, including the WE ACT carbon negative goals and some interesting stats to help us quantify our progress. IS & RESO receives some great kudos from Ali!

Ali also addresses some questions we occasionally receive about how our system shapes policy positions. (Answer: Apolitically around what will best support our Mission and vetted by our Board.) She also shares how we, as caregivers, can lend our passion and support to the advocacy work her team drives.

Check out their conversation, as well as other ones with BJ and other execs in this interesting series.

This series of recorded conversations is brought to us by the IS & RESO Caregiver Engagement Committee. Thank you for everyone who offered great questions for the conversation via Yammer and email.
