Complementary to the onboarding program updates and new resources, the IS Caregiver Engagement Committee (CEC) is also focused on enhancing the first-year experience of our new IS caregivers. One program the CEC is spearheading to help support our caregivers on their journey through their first full year of employment with IS and Providence St. Joseph Health is the newly-launched New Caregiver Mentorship Program.
Designed to pair the newly-hired caregiver with a mentor on their team, the program’s goal is to inspire connection, encourage growth, and promote engagement and career satisfaction in that critical first-year timeframe.
Call for volunteer mentors
We are actively recruiting mentors and believe this can offer many of our caregivers and core leaders a fulfilling path toward nurturing their fellow caregivers and developing their own mentoring skills. If you’re interested in becoming a mentor, please reach out to Shay Gaudon, one of our CEC members representing Southern California IS. Once caregivers express their interest, they will receive an email containing a new mentor questionnaire from Shay. Upon completion of the questionnaire, they will be added to the pool of mentors.
For manager onboarding new caregivers
Please reach out to Shay to take advantage of this new program, and she will assist in setting up the relationship between the new hire mentee on your team and an appropriate mentor.
