IS and RESO teams,
I hope you all had a terrific Labor Day Weekend.
This is the first time we’re including RESO on the distribution of our monthly IS Update. Similar to last week’s Open Forum, I want to be inclusive of both teams in my major communications, even as we continue with mostly separate operations of the two organizations. It was great seeing a larger-than-ever turnout for our Open Forum, inclusive of caregivers in RESO. In the coming months, we’ll assess the opportunities to partner more closely and our cadence of shared communication. I’ll just restate that I am very excited to have John Milne, MD, joining my leadership team and am enjoying getting to know more about RESO.
Several in RESO suggested it would be great to see an overview of IS, similar to how John provided an overview of RESO on our Open Forum last week. We pulled together this overview to help get our RESO caregivers acquainted with IS.
I really enjoyed seeing IS use Teams for our August 19 virtual Summer Social. It was great to see us interacting, laughing, using Teams, and getting our US and PGC teams together for some fun, with about 1,500 caregivers joining either the morning (Hyderbad evening) or afternoon sessions. The generosity of our team in raising raffle funds to benefit Providence Regina House Baby Day ($11,000 USD) and Impact/MNJ Institute of Oncology & Cancer Center of India ($4,000 USD) was inspiring and humbling. Congratulations to our winners. (Hope you enjoy that Coleman grill, Gina!)
Right before we went on our three-day weekend, I posted the third in my Fireside Chat series with my peers across Providence. Last week, I chatted with Verona Dorch, EVP & Chief Legal Officer. It was a fun chat, touching on everything from how our legal affairs work can have a positive impact on our Mission and society, how we can attract diverse talent to our organization, and how IS has already helped her team, but can continue to partner. As I mentioned on Yammer, her experience is fascinating, as an immigrant who went on to Ivy League education and a dynamic career, before being drawn to our purpose and Mission at Providence, much like I was. Check out those Fireside Chats if you haven’t had a chance. Our fourth chat is scheduled for the end of this month when I sit down with my new boss, Rod Hochman, our President & CEO. I hope you find them interesting and helpful in connecting our work with the Providence strategy and other partner organizations.
I am humbled and appreciative of this group’s generosity, your hard work, and your commitment to our Mission through this challenging year. Thank you and stay healthy!
