It’s hard to believe that summer is racing by and we’re already more than half-way through the summer of what’s been a very eventful, demanding, and—let’s face it—strange year!
The executive leadership team and I wanted to make sure that even though we’ve been working remotely for months now, that we not let the tradition of gathering together as an IS team fall by the wayside. This year, we’re using our Modern Workplace tools to try a virtual summer social format that replaces the regional barbeques we usually host and send many of our leaders out to visit.
This edition of IS Update includes information about this event on Tuesday, August 18. You have two time options to join – an early-morning Pacific Time option that accommodates early-birds and our Hyderabad caregivers joining in the evening, as well as an afternoon Pacific Time option. I’ll be there for both, including participating in an “Ask Me Anything” session. It’s not quite the dunk tanks that I’ve heard about from past years’ barbeque events, but you can try to stump me and Tabitha.
Check out the wide variety of activities we have planned, including our charity raffle of IS exec team-sponsored themed gift baskets that will benefit Providence Regina House. (I’d love for you to win my portable grill!) Both time options on August 18 have been shared with all IS caregivers via invites from my calendar. I hope to see you there.
Additionally, I’ll be looking forward to interfacing with many of you next Tuesday on our August 11 IS Open Forum call. In addition to our regular IS business and Modern Workplace updates, Carlos Adame, our Service Area Chief HR Officer, has invited an HR guest to share more about caregiver wellbeing resources that I think are very important for us to understand and utilize when we need them.
Finally, two additional things I’m excited to share progress on in this month’s newsletter… One, is the pilot of our IS internship program, currently giving valuable career opportunities to six trainees in Information Security. We also feature a follow-up to our June conversation about creating a more just and inclusive society with some resources from our Rise program that we wanted to highlight that can help continue that dialogue and listening.
See you on next Tuesday for Open Forum and for our fun together on the August 18 Summer Social!
