Thank you to all who joined us for our Q4 IS town hall. I was particularly pleased we were able to make more time on the agenda for a robust Q&A. We received over 95 questions, so my executive team and I spent quite a bit of time over the weekend trying to thoughtfully answer each one. (See the document with all our Q&A responses.)
One of the questions that was asked in the Q&A was if my family had a particular Christmas tradition that we celebrated. Well, we try to do a family vacation each Christmas. Last Christmas and New Year we were able to be together on a cruise to Antarctica. It was a very special time together and marked our seventh and final continent to cross off the list for visiting as a family.
I also am excited that the IS executive team and various IS groups based in Renton are sponsoring a record number of families in need with Christmas gifts, in partnership with the Regina House, a Providence ministry supporting the community in southwest Seattle. There are so many of these generous efforts underway across IS and in various regions and I am humbled and motivated by the generosity I’ve seen.
I’m sharing with you immediately following my presentation with Tabitha Lieberman to the PSJH board. As I shared in town hall, but was again struck with today, our IS organization commands an enormous amount of investment within PSJH and with that comes an enormous responsibility. I want our team to know that our hard work to transform technology is getting recognition at the board level. Our continued pace of wins supporting our strategy of Simplify, Modernize, Innovate is resonating with them. Epic, as well, is a huge hit and our board is proud of our system moving to a world-class standardized EHR, and our leadership in that area. (We also achieved another year of Epic Honor Roll, so great work!)
I can tell you that I personally got five fist-bumps from the board. No other presenter was getting fist-bumps and high-fives for the work of their organizations. Please know how proud I am to share our team’s achievements with them and communicate back the vocal support they have for IS.
I want to wish each of you and your families a blessed Christmas! Know I am so grateful for this year of transformation alongside you and what I’ve learned so far.
