Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to accompany Rod Hochman, our Providence St. Joseph Health President & CEO, and other PSJH leaders, on a pilgrimage to the Providence Mother House in Montreal.
Being there and seeing archives and building plans of some our original ministries gave me a real sense of connection between our roots in Montreal to our mission today. It was also very meaningful to see, first hand, how the Sisters have been, and continue to be, an example of unwavering resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Their expression of servant leadership is also very humbling.
Connecting the dots to the work we do in IS, the work of the Sisters of Providence serves as inspiration as we guide our organization through complex challenges and strive do so with the grace, tenacity and servant leadership.
Talking about complex challenges and opportunities to improve our collaboration, last week, it was great to welcome Microsoft training partners onto our Renton campus to help illuminate some of the opportunities for more efficient collaboration with Teams, a tool many are still learning and completely new to many. We had great participation from our Renton Shared Services caregivers for that October 29 event, as well as at the October 21 event held at Irvine’s Park Place offices.
I am now in Guatemala, as part of a leadership Mission service trip to help build wheelchairs and provide other services. I’m really looking forward to working directly with the community there and continuing to deepen my connection to our Mission. I’ll share a bit more from the trip on our November 25 IS Open Forum session when we’re next together.
