Reflecting on My PSJH Journey So Far

Today, I’m headed to New York City to speak on behalf of PSJH at an Ideagen Summit, where our president & CEO, Rod Hochman, will also speak and accept an award, and where Rhonda Medows, M.D., president of Population Health and CEO of Ayin Health Solutions will address a group in a conference hall at the United Nations. In my conversation on stage at the NASDAQ, I know I’ll be asked about my journey to health care from Microsoft, the potential of technology to improve health care, and about how our work in IS ties to our 165-year Mission as a combined organization. I remain very excited to talk about these at any opportunity and I want you to feel some of that same excitement as part of IS.

I’ve been feeling reflective as I take stock of my first six months leading IS and getting to know PSJH. I wrote a blog post about how I’ve tried to bring myself up to speed, but also bring other leaders and our PSJH partners onboard with our IS strategic vision. It’s only then that we can reimagine the status quo.

In this IS Update, I asked Tabitha Lieberman and Brett MacLaren to share a little bit about their experience at Epic UGM at the end of last month . . .

Celebrating the Life of Mother Emilie Gamelin

IS team – On September 23, as IS gathers for its Q3 town hall, Providence St. Joseph Health will be holding activities related to our annual celebration of one of our foundresses, Mother Emilie Gamelin.

Upon the 168th anniversary of her death, we look back at the tremendous impact her short life of just 51 years had on creating this organization. Her commitment to serving the poor and vulnerable endures. Not only did she serve her society in her time, she helped create the legacy of a Mission that continues to thrive today.
