CTO Rick Stover Shares Azure DevOps Vision for IS

As PSJH drives towards its goal of building a Modern Workplace, we continue to standardize on industry-leading tools that will improve productivity and efficiency. A major focus of this initiative is enhanced collaboration.

Currently, different teams across IS are using multiple applications to perform similar types of work. Some tools are outdated and lack key capabilities, and most do not integrate well with each other. This large set of disparate tools limits the effective management of standard functions like reporting, accessibility, traceability, and project visibility.

Beginning in January, we will transition to Azure DevOps, which enables effective collaboration on IS projects through source control, work tracking, and continuous integration and delivery.

Christmas Traditions, New and Old

Thank you to all who joined us for our Q4 IS town hall. I was particularly pleased we were able to make more time on the agenda for a robust Q&A. We received over 95 questions, so my executive team and I spent quite a bit of time over the weekend trying to thoughtfully answer each one. (See town hall follow-up article, below.)

One of the questions that was asked in the Q&A was if my family had a particular Christmas tradition that we celebrated. Well, we try to do a family vacation each Christmas. Last Christmas and New Year we were able to be together on a cruise to Antarctica. It was a very special time together and marked our seventh and final continent to cross off the list for visiting as a family.

I also am excited that the IS executive team and various IS groups based in Renton are sponsoring a record number of families in need with Christmas gifts, in partnership with the Regina House, a Providence ministry supporting the community in southwest Seattle. There are so many of these generous efforts underway across IS and in various regions and I am humbled and motivated by the generosity I’ve seen . . .
