One Year, and SO MUCH progress!

This month marks my one-year anniversary as CIO at PSJH and leading this incredible IS team. It’s been a great ride so far!

When I look at this month’s IS Update and see all the progress we’re making around Modern Workplace, and improving our security with multiple roll-outs and being able to enforce policies we’ve long needed, I am very proud of our organization. The amount of necessary modernization and rationalization we’ve driven in a short time is incredible . . .

Calling All Innovators

IS is increasingly developing new, often ground-breaking technologies to facilitate the digital transformation of healthcare.

When a caregiver engages in such development, PSJH would like to obtain patents for these developments. Patents benefit both our Mission and the inventors. Beyond financial compensation, being named on an application for a patent or a granted patent is a significant professional recognition for a technologist.

PSJH Now Enforcing Policy for Inactive AD Accounts

Effective, Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, Information Services began disabling any Active Directory, (AD) account on the providence.org network domain not used in the last 90 days. Disabling inactive accounts has been PSJH policy, but will now be more strictly enforced.

User accounts with no log-in activity for 90 days or more will be disabled for 12 months (one year). During that period, the account can be retrieved and reactivated by calling the IS Service Desk. Following one year of disablement, the account will be deleted and permanently unavailable.

System Leadership Shares a More Gradual Path to Epic and Genesis Deployment

PSJH system leadership, including President of Operations & Strategy, Mike Butler, CFO, Venkat Bhamidipati, as well as our own IS executive leadership, shared a memo last week announcing the decision to push back deployment dates of Epic and Genesis ERP, two major IS projects involving many members of our IS organization. This extra time allows us to better mitigate risks, better sequence launches and develop necessary training, and have great flexibility on this complex series of deployments that IS is leading.
