I hope that you all enjoyed a restful extended Independence Day Weekend with your families.

Thanks to the over 1,700 caregivers who joined us on Tuesday’s IS Open Forum, as well as those who took part in our June 16 Open Forum, where we had an important conversation about how IS can contribute to a more just and inclusive society. I very much appreciate the dialogue, the passionate and informative Yammer discussion, and the emails I receive from across our IS team.

I’m glad we got to spend some time on our Tuesday live event honoring our three IS caregiver nominees, Martin, Kathy, and Terry, for the PSJH Values in Action award. I was part of the Teams virtual ceremony recognizing them . . .

Self-Service Software Delivery Means Faster Access to Tools

Windows OS Server Patching Methodology Changes

On July 15, we will begin transitioning the process of patching servers via the “patch, no reboot” option to fully-automated or manual patching methodologies. The system owners, compute operations, applications, and Information Security teams will collaborate to determine which applications cannot be taken offline for patching and maintenance.

Preparing for Smartsheet Retirement on Nov. 2

As part of the Modern Workplace initiative, we announced last September that Smartsheet would be decommissioned and replaced with Office 365 tools. Since then, we’ve communicated the detailed plan for the decommission of Smartsheet with key user groups.

July Modern Workplace Virtual Learning

The One Team training program for our Microsoft Modern Workplace tools has expanded to include additional Office 365 applications.   

New courses being launched include Project and Teams. The new curriculum also includes enhanced course offerings for Teams. Teams 100, Teams 200, a Skype-to-Teams “crosswalk” class, and the newly added Teams 300 course. All are targeted toward a caregiver’s level of experience with the application.
