Happy New Year! I hope you all had some time to relax and reflect over the holidays. Was great to see over 1,500 caregivers across our organizations join together to have some fun socializing, playing games, sharing music, and giving kids time with Santa over Teams on our December 10 virtual IS & RESO Christmas Party.
I hope you also saw the video with Sister Susanne, Santa, and me reflecting on your tremendous efforts over 2020, and wishing you and your loved ones a merry Christmas.
We’ll have a chance to look back on the incredible progress we made in our journey to simplify, modernize and innovate in the past year, as well as share our 2021 priorities when we gather for Open Forum, tomorrow, Thursday, January 7.
It’s exciting to hear from our caregivers who have begun receiving their vaccinations. We know it has been a long haul to get to this point and can feel proud of how we helped our system lead the way through every stage of this pandemic and now lead where other systems are struggling in vaccine rollout to our caregivers . . .

Providence has defied the country’s slow rollout trend and provided the COVID vaccine to half of our 120,000 caregivers across seven states. This feat was supported by the IS-developed VAV (validate and verify) tool, which was cited as a critical innovation to assist logistical planning.

Over the past few months, our Genesis Change Management team has been hard at work putting together a SharePoint site aimed at keeping our caregivers up to date on what’s going on with the Genesis ERP project.

Early this past fall, our IS OneTeam group began sharing the direction we were headed with transitioning from Outlook-based DLs to Microsoft 365 Groups for distribution of emails. The original deadline of December 18, 2020, to migrate distribution lists (DLs) to Microsoft 365 (M365) Groups has been extended. Currently, all on-prem, non-query-based, Outlook DLs with 400 members or less, may continue to be migrated to M365 Groups utilizing the DL Migration Tool below. We will communicate updates on timelines soon.

The HI Data Literacy team has migrated their self-service training materials to the new Data Literacy SharePoint site. Access training and information for how Providence reporting platforms and tools are used with HI data, products, and services, including AthenaHealth, Axon, Power BI, SlicerDicer, and others.

Q4 2020 was the final cycle of IS & RESO participating in the CFO (Chief Financial Officer organization) Awards. In 2021, we’ll introduce our own IS & RESO Awards. In the meantime, we’re proud to honor the team and individual CFO Award winners from IS & RESO for the quarter ending December 2020, as well as our finalists.

We continuing to modernize our data technology from the old, on-premise PHS Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to the CDW on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. All data on the EDW must be migrated to the CDW. By the end of March 31, 2021, all partners must be ingesting data into and consuming data from the CDW, rather than the EDW.

To ensure consistency in leadership titling across IS, we are making minor changes this month. As part of this, some IS executives previously holding the GVP (Group Vice President) title will be retitled to VP (Vice President).
