We know that we’ve been deepening our partnership recently with Microsoft, including our exciting work on data center transformation with Project AzureEye and our embrace of Office 365 collaboration tools such as Teams.
On Monday, Providence St. Joseph Health and Microsoft jointly announced a multi-year strategic alliance to accelerate the digital transformation of health care. It’s been getting a lot of attention from the business media and you probably have already seen coverage of the partnership if you follow PSJH or tech in the news.
Fundamentally, the relationship with Microsoft and using their PaaS (platform as a service) offerings will help us more holistically manage our stack and move it to the cloud, as well as bring financial benefits from having fewer contracts and platforms to manage. While the external media coverage of this agreement focuses on cloud and AI potential, for IS, the deepened relationship with Microsoft will standardize our stack across eight primary categories:
- Productivity tools
- Email and fileshares
- Conference and audio
- Meeting spaces
- Analytics
- End Point Devices
- Security and information protection
- Identity
We’ll be sharing more about this partnership and how this work within IS will start to unfold on our August 9, 2019 IS Open Forum call, as well as many future communications you’ll be hearing tied to the “Modern Workplace/PaaS” initiative.
PSJH system newsletter articles will run an announcement from PSJH President and CEO Rod Hochman regarding the partnership later today and tomorrow (July 10 and 11), but we wanted to share it with all IS caregivers a bit ahead of the curve.
