Ramon Juarez, facilities technician – Covenant Hobbs Hospital – Hobbs, New Mexico
Ramon Juarez is a new Facilities caregiver and has been with our ministry for less than one year. Recently, he brought to my attention that he thought he had identified an issue with our hot water system by noticing a strange pattern change occurring in our 120-degree hot water mixing valve. As his leader, I admittedly dismissed his concern initially due to the belief that the problem was stemming from other repairs that we were performing at that time. However, Ramon persisted in troubleshooting and discovered a significant decrease in performance overtime and an issue in our BAS notification system preventing a historical snapshot. After further review, Ramon’s instinct was correct, and the mixing valve was in the early stages faltering. This has allowed us to reach out to our supply partner and order needed service parts to perform needed maintenance. It also focused our intention to other components of our hot water recirculation loop in which we noticed several adjustments that were needed to optimize our system and prolong our equipment’s life cycle. ~ Paul Richards – operations manager
Elizabeth Cristan, lead security officer – Covenant Medical Center – Lubbock, Texas
I want to give a huge thumbs up to Elizabeth for how she handled a very difficult patient. On Friday, September 27th, we were called to one of our medical floors for a disruptive patient. This patient is very well known to us and each time she is admitted, she is very disruptive with the nursing staff. On this day, Elizabeth spent a good 30 minutes talking with the patient and was able to calm her down enough so nursing staff could give her care. Elizabeth even went as far as getting this patient some snacks & checked in on her to make sure she was being cooperative with the nursing staff. ~ Phillip Campbell – supervisor security
Hector Ruiz, senior security officer– Covenant Medical Center – Lubbock, Texas
Our Adult Emergency Department has seen a big increase in patient volume over the last several days. On October 1, Hector was working this area & he displayed the highest level of professionalism by working closely with the nursing staff in limiting the number of visitors allowed. He displayed high customer service skills by explaining to all visitors the reason behind the limitations while maintaining the safety of all patients, staff, & visitors. ~ Phillip Campbell – supervisor security
Herman Martinez, security officer – Covenant Medical Center – Lubbock, Texas
Due to staffing issues Herman was assigned two posts at our Children’s Hospital. While carrying out his assigned duties, Herman displayed a high level of professionalism by maintaining the safety of all our patients, staff, & visitors. ~ Phillip Campbell – supervisor security
Dion Hernandez, security officer, and Cody Copeland, lead security officer – Covenant Medical Center – Lubbock, Texas
There is an elderly gentleman on one of our medical floors who has been with us for a few weeks. This gentleman often gets very confused & wanders around the unit & into other patients’ rooms. Both Cody & Dion displayed the highest level of professionalism while dealing with this patient by re-directing him back to his room & assisting the nursing staff in helping to re-orient this patient to place, time, & situation. Both Dion & Cody showed compassion and patience with him & helped to keep the patient & nursing staff safe. ~ Phillip Campbell – supervisor security
Nick Trevino, facilities engineer – Providence Newberg Medical Center – Newberg, Oregon
Nick always has a smile on his face every single day. Nick always goes out of his way to make sure everyone in this facility is good. He always shows compassion, and excellence every day. If anyone needs anything fixed or just checked out, they know they can count on Nick. Nick is very valuable to Providence Newberg. For instance, the EVS department needed their J-fill dispenser in OB fixed, instead of having to wait on someone to eventually make it out here, Nick replaced it for the department without hesitation. Thank you, Nick, for always showing core values. You are one in a million. ~ Angela Pacheco, environmental services technician
