Sonia Gutierrez, EVS Technician – Providence Portland Medical Center – Portland, Oregon
Providence Portland Medical Center Guest Housing is so lucky to have Sonia as part of the team. Sonia is so loving and caring for all our guests and so much I received a filled out compassionate caregiver’s survey form. A guest wrote this about Sonia – “My interaction with Sonia, I was lost in thought upon just learning I did NOT have spinal cancer, ALS or MS and that my medical condition can be easily treated. I was about to do a virtual call with friends & family for a celebratory toast, but I was trying not to cry from relief. Unintentionally, Sonia startled me. Instantly, her compassion, apology & smile changed my day! She gently touched my shoulder & asked if I was okay. I truly needed that at that moment!! Because I AM OK!! We laughed together for a few moments & I had a wonderful happy celebratory toast to my health with my family. I am truly grateful for that moment of true humanity, and it was a blessing.” Sonia is so loved here, and I am so proud that she is part of the PPMC Guest Housing Team!!! ~ Daniel Turner – Administrative Coordinator
