Dear team,
I hope everyone had a joyful holiday season and had the chance to think back on the accomplishments from 2023. Your efforts last year made a meaningful impact on our journey toward recovery and renewal, with significant milestones in financial stewardship and community benefit.
Our successful sale of 27 non-strategic real estate assets, generated $74 million for Providence, with another $23 million worth of property expected to close in the next few weeks. Our diligence on savings initiatives reduced the operating expenses of the Divisions by more than $20 million last year and really demonstrates your commitment to sustaining our Mission.
The annual Caregiver Engagement Survey feedback has been really valuable and showed us that the work we started last year to address challenges to reduce administrative burden and burnout are critical. While progress has been made, I know there’s more to be done and we will continue to focus on improvements this year.
Kudos to the 29 Ministries receiving Practice Greenhealth awards for advancing our Environmental Stewardship. Providence’s commitment to carbon negativity by 2030 reflects your dedication and makes us an industry leader.
Looking ahead to 2024, we will continue to focus on standardization, best practices, financial stewardship, and improving caregiver experience. As the Divisions finalize their 2024 goals, we will be announcing the RESO goals to align and support the Ministries we serve. I look forward to carrying the momentum from our achievements into 2024 and creating a culture that achieves the outcomes we need to support our Mission.
Thank you for your incredible contributions to RESO’s success in 2023. I hope you allow yourself to take pride in the positive impact you’ve had on Providence and the communities we serve.
Mike Denney
