They all responded in Everett, Washington very early in the morning to assist with our transition as our Nurses went on Strike. They transitioned approximately 250 workers in & out within 30 minutes across two campuses and four separate nursing buildings simultaneously. They also secured our facility and grounds.
Mike and Rob stayed through the week acting as the Logistics Chief for 24/7 coverage through the strike, everyone rolled with the changes and pushed forward to reach our end goal. Thank you to all those that stayed at their local ministries and covered for these leaders so they could support in Everett. Thank You ~ Peter Smeltz – facility manager

Donnie Johnson, evs supervisor – Providence Regional Medical Center Everett – Everett, Washington
Everett EVS team
Thank you for working through all of the unplanned issues as Everett went through its strike. Ryan, Donnie, and team managed waste for a week and had to adjust when our freight elevator went down by transferring 240 yards of waste from one side of the campus to the other via pickup truck. They never complained and kept hospital operations running without having to pile trash in a corner. ~ Peter Smeltz – facility manager
Nathaniel Lofton, facilities engineer – Providence St. Peter Hospital – Olympia, Washinton
Nate has become very observant to the condition of the building, developing a trained ear to detect pending mechanical failures. When we comes across an odd noise, he dives right into diagnosis, sources parts, and schedules repairs. This is of great value to our team right now as our newest member, Kieth, has one of the oldest zones in the building that requires repairs lately. Nate is stepping up and completing repairs in this area covering for others on PTO without being asked. He is a great example of teamwork and personal ownership. Two principals we are building up in the Plant Operations Team. ~ Gregory Pries – utility technician

We had an issue with our fire panels in all lodges, and commons building here at Providence Seward Mountain Haven. Mark worked with the vendor to trouble shoot these issues with the system testing and was able to fix this situation on his own. Strong work Mark! We are truly blessed to have you on our team! ~ Michael Gaffney – executive director, real estate operations
Swedish First Hill EVS Management team – Swedish First Hill – Seattle, Washington
Led by Lisa Aguda, they have been working very hard to rebalance their work force and adjust their schedules. Over the last 6 months they have been able to successfully eliminate their agency labor use and improve on their productivity index score. With those adjustments we will avoid significant agency expenses moving forward. ~ Michael Gaffney – executive director, real estate operations
A huge thanks to many of our RESO leaders for traveling to Providence Everett and assisting with their five-day nursing strike. There were many leaders who assisted and worked crazy long hours. It was a proud moment to see such great teamwork and a real sense of family within RESO. ~ Michael Gaffney – executive director, real estate operations
