Resource Advisor captures utility data
Joanne Sparks has managed the Resource Advisor platform since 2017 when the Providence Community Partnerships team ran a Providence cross-functional RFP to select a partner to deliver automated utility bill payment, an online environmental stewardship platform, supply side procurement support, and other utility management services. Prior to the Resource Advisor platform, Joanne managed an excel-based interface which tracked energy and water in owned legacy Providence buildings for 15 years; this data transferred to Resource Advisor allowing for a significant data history.
The Resource Advisor program is powered by data captured directly from utility invoices via Schneider Electric’s Utility Bill Management (UBM) program. Schneider Electric, through its partnership with Cass Information Systems, a licensed commercial bank, delivers its UBM services which centralize and consolidate utility invoice payments – in most cases, processing and payments are done electronically. Utilities send the invoices directly to Cass instead of to the sites or Providence AP. Cass then collects, scans, and pays the bills. UBM enables Schneider to audit the bills, identify and recover billing errors, and upload the data into Resource Advisor.
Every Purchase Counts – Environmentally Preferrable Purchasing Policy
To achieve our carbon negative goal, the Environmentally Preferrable Purchasing (EPP) Policy includes guidelines to procuring need goods and services that prioritize the care of the environment. The EPP uses the WE ACT framework and teams across Providence contributed to the new policy.
