HI and EBA Ask Finance Report Owners to Act Now to Ensure Smooth Genesis Transition

Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW) reports usually combine ERP and EHR data. The IS Enterprise Business Applications (EBA) team and Healthcare Intelligence (HI) teams are asking core leaders, analysts and developers who have financial reports, dashboards or other systems that use financial data from the CDW to act now to ensure reports work when Genesis launches in July.

When the Genesis program goes live in July, it will bring our new, integrated enterprise resource planning system powered by Oracle Cloud technology. The new ERP system will replace Lawson, McKesson, MAS200 and Hyperion Financial Management. The new ERP will also consolidate different versions of Kronos to a single version. The HI team uses the CDW to support certain financial reports that typically combine financial data from our current ERP systems with Epic’s electronic health record data. To get ready for our new ERP system, HI is restructuring financial data in the CDW.

Core leaders, analysts and developers: If you have financial reports, dashboards or other systems that use financial data from the CDW, you must check how the data sources are affected by Genesis. Please make sure you or your data developer do the following:

  • Determine if your financial report uses data from the CDW. If it includes data from one of our existing ERP systems combined with Epic or Kronos data, it may be impacted.
  • Check the new data structure coming to the CDW because of Genesis. Resources are available on the Genesis-HI Alignment SharePoint site.
  • Please contact Gregg Rushing to investigate how to fix the report or if you have questions.
  • If you are a report owner or developer who uses financial ERP data outside the tools managed by the HI team, consider using the new data structures coming to the CDW as a result of Genesis.
