For our fourth article in the Living Our Values series, we are going to focus on the Providence value of Excellence.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart. – Colossians 3:23
We set the highest standards for ourselves and our ministries. Through transformation and innovation, we strive to improve the health and quality of life in our communities. We commit to compassionate, safe and reliable practices for the care of all.
This bold red, orange and gold represent energy, enthusiasm and determination, attributes we must cultivate when striving for excellence. The splash of blue, which is calming, balances the strong, warm colors. Traditionally, the dandelion symbolizes Christ’s passion.
The following are some of the ways in which our IS & RESO caregivers exhibit excellence:
- From Clinical & Revenue Cycle Applications (CRCA) : Active cross-IS interaction: i.e. working with a caregiver from another pillar on their caregiver event, supporting a caregiver from another pillar in her planning and execution for her large team event, creating a strong connection with a caregiver for another pillar in support of her team ….I hope to reach out to more of the committee members in 2022 and will make that one of ‘my goals’ for my review.
- From IS CRCA pillar: 2020-2021 Supporting each other with Mission “teaching” activities and learning from each other as we conduct the teaching lessons.
- From Adriana Alfarozierten, director, engineering program management: “I noticed someone in my team brining clarity and focus to all discussions by framing the work in terms of ‘Who am I doing this work for and how can I make it better?’ Plan to follow this example going forward.”
- All IS pillars: All-hands monthly meetings
- From the CI/ISSP pillar: We have a Caregiver Engagement Committee with representatives from all departments as well as a pillar team site in Teams for team sharing opportunities.
- Greg Johnson, sr. clinical informatics specialist with the Clinical Informatics team: “Kristi Turner is always willing to help trouble-shoot any issue we share with her. She has helped me countless times and I really appreciate this since we cannot all be proficient in all areas.”

She is an exceptional leader who can get things done but doing so keeping all of her team on a personal level. I will surely miss having her as a manager and coworker.”
- From Johnson Apacible, VP, software engineering in Administrative Technology: “Personally driving more than 10 miles to hand needed, but misdelivered, equipment to new hires before their start date. This was done to ensure that the new hire had the needed tools to begin their job immediately.”
