Texas and Beyond

After yet another successful, massive Epic go-live—this time in Texas—many of our IS caregivers are still immersed in monitoring, supporting, and following up on any remaining issues. Following last May’s largest-ever Epic deployment for Orange County-High Desert and October’s go-live for Northern California, we have now completed all regional transitions to an integrated, “one EHR,” model—the largest in the world. Congratulations to all involved in crossing this finish line! This is a huge milestone for all of Providence and the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and skillful preparation and execution. Can’t thank everyone of you enough for making this happen.

Now, all eyes will again be on IS as we, in partnership with business stakeholders and teams across Providence, roll out Genesis ERP this summer.

The other day, I sat down for a Fireside Chat with Providence South president of operations and strategy Erik Wexler. It was great to connect with him to learn more about him and his career and chat about IS & RESO partnership with his regions, as well as his thoughts on our path to renewal.

Many of you know by now that Kerrie Bartel-Christensen, VP of Oregon RESO, has decided to leave Providence to return to her home state of Michigan. I am thankful to Kerrie for her leadership, passion and amazing contributions to Providence and wish her and her family all the best. Craig Arnold and his leadership team are working on finding Kerrie’s replacement and continue aligning the organization for success. As part of this, the RESO team has made other announcements including Alex Herr stepping up to lead California and Texas/New Mexico RESO, with Mike Siwek taking over TX/NM leadership from Kelly McDaniel.

As we watch the tragic events unfold in Ukraine, I hope you saw Rod Hochman’s note about the ways Providence is supporting charity relief. I feel proud of the way Providence steps up to help not just the communities where we have ministries, but also uses our scale and Mission to support global needs.

I look forward to our time together on the March 28 IS & RESO Open Forum. Here’s to a great Spring ahead!
