Hope Tower is a new state-of-the-art inpatient tower capable of treating complex orthopedic trauma, spine, and cranial neurosurgery patients. The six-story structure will be approximately 200,000 square feet and cost about $140 million to complete. It will provide an additional 150 beds for Covenant Medical Center, as well as a new front entrance and chapel, and surface parking.
In the recent article published in the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, Kelly McDaniel, executive director support services with Covenant Health, shares the journey of this project and how the new tower received its name.
“We wanted to rename all of our towers to really represent our faith-based heritage – we selected hope,” Kelly says. “I think it represents what we’re here for: Hope for healing, hope for the community, and hope for all of us.”
