We are pleased to announce that, on September 18, our Northern California region went live on Epic.
This latest go-live replaced the MEDITECH and Allscripts systems with Epic and other integrated applications to further expand our continuity of care for Northern California.
This huge undertaking is another implementation success for our organization and includes: Petaluma Valley Hospital, Queen of the Valley Hospital, Redwood Memorial Hospital, Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, and Heritage Medical Group.
This is the second large wave of implementation in the effort to bring all new Providence facilities onto the same EHR (electronic health records) system and will culminate with one last Epic launch for Texas in March 2022. While the major locations have been successfully launched, the Northern California efforts continue into October with home health, hospice, and palliative care, and home care in Southern California
Typical challenges were expected during the first few days after implementation, but overall, this has been a smooth implementation, a testament to the work and advance planning from all our teams. The next few weeks will be a chance to troubleshoot, train, and repair any problems that arise, but we are excited to complete this phase of our Epic implementation, and again, have been impressed with how well this implementation has gone.
Thank you to each of the teams who have worked so well together to get this implementation online.
