ServiceNow Rome Update Goes Live Oct. 16

The latest ServiceNow software update, Rome, is scheduled to go live on Saturday, October 16, 2021. This upgrade will include security patches and default features, including but not limited to:

  • Analytics Q&A: Generate a report by entering a question, select the data source, and ServiceNow will pick an appropriate visualization. (Legacy report generation still available)
  • Visual Task Board sorting: Sort within columns using criteria you create with a sort-filter option
  • Activity Stream sorting: Sort information from newest to oldest, or oldest to newest (only available in the Agent workspace)
  • Dot-walking: Reference fields from extended tables to enhance sort capabilities for reporting

Just as Rome wasn’t built in a day, additional features, such as emoji chat capabilities, Employee Center on the Portal, and AI Search, will be added to our product backlog for future consideration. This will limit the amount of operational change you experience but keeps our platform secure and vendor-supported.

The ServiceNow team, along with the process owners, are testing the upgrade and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for potential impacts.
