Dear colleagues,

Having brought valuable clinical perspective to the way we plan real estate and facilities, John Milne, M.D. will be leaving his role as SVP of real estate on May 17.

I want to thank John for his leadership over the past three years. As a practicing physician who understands where medicine and technology are going, he has helped us plan our facilities for the future. He has also played a tremendous role in our COVID-19 response, ensuring the safety of our physical environment, helping us expand ICU capacity, accommodating new testing and triage sites, and planning our hybrid workspaces for the future.

John will continue to practice as an emergency medicine physician at Swedish. In fact, one of his lasting legacies will be the role he played in designing and opening Swedish’s Issaquah campus nearly a decade ago. Issaquah continues to be one of the most innovative facilities in health care nationally.

We will begin a national search for a new real estate leader immediately.  In the meantime, please join me in thanking John for his leadership and wishing him well on his next chapter.

BJ

Wanted to let you know, after careful consideration, informal interviews, consulting with some of the EC, and of course John, I am selecting Andrew Haslam as the interim leader for RESO.

Next steps are I will inform the EC and John will begin partnering with Andrew to transition his responsibilities to Andrew or the respective current direct as appropriate.

As I’ve updated most of you in our early 1:1s, the goal will be to maintain continuity and the current plan of record over the next 3-4 months, while I identify and hire the future RESO executive leader.

Thank you everyone for your professionalism and support to Andrew and each other to ensure success.
