TEO Network Engineering has proudly shared the completion of several much-needed major network modernization and remediation efforts at legacy St. Joseph Health Southern California ministries that started last September and wrapped at the end of the year.
Network Services has provided this overview of performance and reliability initiatives for Orange County/High Desert.
Per-site experience enhancements
- The wireless environment is undergoing a complete hardware and design upgrade, which will enable features and capabilities that are not currently available, for example, RTLS (real time location services) which will allows for updated infant security systems, as well as laying the groundwork for wayfinding and asset tracking solutions.
- Critically important core network systems, which limit caregiver downtime during an outage, have received approval for replacements as well. Three facilities in Southern California have had core replacements deployed so far.
Site-to-site connectivity improvements
System upgrades have been completed across the region, which have provided measured performance improvement of up to 50%.
Reliability first
- A dedicated team has been established to focus on proactively monitoring the stability and performance of the environment.
- Using automated alerts, the team can immediately react in the event of an issue and has the ability to engage all necessary resources to resolve the issue.
- PACS (Picture Archiving & Communication System) performance was greatly improved through the joint effort and collaboration across IS teams.
