The following message was cascaded on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from Providence leadership to Southern California leaders and caregivers.
OCHD Epic Go-Live pushed to May 15, 2021
Due to the COVID-19 surge in Southern California, the Epic go-live for Orange County-High Desert (OCHD) is being moved to May 15, 2021. This decision was made to reduce the stress currently on our caregivers and providers, enabling them to stay focused on patient and self-care during these unprecedented times.
While we know many are anxious to move to the Epic system, we hope this slight delay will ease the way for our caregivers, providers, patients, and community. Not only do we need all available staff here for our patients, but to prepare properly for go-live we also need time for appropriate training – something simply not reasonable to request at this time.
Training – While details will follow, please note:
- There will be no training in January as previously scheduled.
- Independent study (for those previously identified groups – providers, nurses and respiratory therapists) will now be available in early February.
- All training sessions scheduled for February will be moved to virtual training.
- Sign-up for March and April classes will begin February 1.
- All training will be either online independent study or virtual.
All project work will continue as planned; appropriate adjustments will be made based on caregiver/provider availability.
This change does not impact the Northern California or Texas go-lives. Below is our updated implementation schedule:
Region | Original Go-live Date | Current Go-live Date |
SoCal OCHD | 3/13/2020 | 5/15/2021 |
Northern California | 9/18/2021 | 9/18/2021 |
Texas/New Mexico | 3/05/2022 | 3/05/2022 |
Please see the Epic SharePoint site for updates.
