IS & RESO Caregivers Receive Mission Honors

On our Monday, Nov. 9 IS & RESO Open Forum EVP/CIO B.J. Moore and Sister Susanne Hartung, Chief Mission Integration Officer for Shared Services, honored IS & RESO nominees and winners of two significant honors Values in Action Awards and the Oregon region Spirit of Emilie Awards.

Values in Action Awards 

The Values in Action Awards are a Mission-focused, system-wide honor that recognizes those who exemplify our Values through their work. Shared Services is one of the regions/business areas each year and its winner was IS caregiver Fed Leon, end user support admin. Congratulations on your honor, Fed!

Honorees will receive an invitation to a virtual celebration event in the coming weeks. 

Spirit of Emilie Awards for Oregon 

This award honors caregivers in the Oregon region who exemplify our values in action. Three Oregon RESO caregivers were honored. 

PSVMC – Andy Mason 

On Oct. 12, 2020, Andy Mason, manager physical plant, was recognized as Providence St. Vincent Medical Center’s honoree for the Spirit of Emilie Values in Action Award. Honorary emcee Sister Lynda and Chief Operating Officer Nancy shared some inspirational comments about Andy. This included his absolute stellar service to all that he comes in contact. His leadership elevates an extremely solid Facilities Engineering team, who take pride in their work as they successfully maintain the safe and comfortable built environment for all patients and caregivers of PSVMC.

Andy is the fullpackage Core Value and Missiondriven servant leader. He performs with excellence, behaving with integrity and treating others with dignity and compassion. It’s no surprise that he was nominated for this prestigious award,” says Garth Didlick, regional director for environment of care. 

Newburg Medical Center – Jose Perez and Melinda Nelson 

On Oct. 14a recognition ceremony was held celebrating Newberg Medical Center’s Spirit of Emilie Value in Action Award winners. Cleaning attendant Jose Perez and EVS supervisor Melinda Nelson were honored as the 2020 awardees. Father Chris Fabre, COO/CNE Melissa Burns, and CE Joe Yoder presented the awards, as well as providing many positive comments from caregivers about Jose and Melinda, and sharing the many ways in which each of them provide excellent and compassionate service to all they serve.
