Dave Thompson and Jane Boies Receive 2019 Émilie Gamelin Awards

Sr. Susanne Hartung presents Jane Boies with her award, alongside Mark Schweitzer and Charlene Guanlao of IS, and Norm Hammel of the Union Gospel Mission

On Sept. 27, as part of our week-long Mission Week celebration of the legacy of Blessed Émilie Gamelin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence, two of our own were honored for their long-time efforts supporting the Des Moines Area Food Bank and Mother Joseph Farm on our Renton campus.

Jane Boies, sr. application analyst, and Dave Thompson, principal information security analyst, were presented the award by our Chief Mission Integration Officer, Sister Susanne Hartung at a breakfast closing out Mission Week.

A video honoring the work of Jane on the farm, Dave with the food bank’s back-to-school supply program, and this year’s other honorees was shown. They were cheered on by fellow Mother Joseph Farm volunteer (and past winner) Mark Schweitzer, Epic applications senior analyst, and Jane’s core leader Charlene Guanlao.

Dave Thompson receives his Emelie Gamelin Award from Sister Susanne.

We thank Jane and David for their great work on behalf of our Mission, our community and representing our IS commitment to service!
