Senior Project Manager – IS PPMO Intake, Dale Peterson is retiring, and his colleagues have some insight to his strength, knowledge, and unique character from their time together. He will clearly be missed. Before he goes, here’s a look at his career with Providence over the past 37 years.
1982 Hired as a Computer Operator at the Sisters of St Joseph data center on Chapman Ave. in Orange. Worked graveyard running programs on two Burroughs main-frame computers.
1984 Moved to a Customer Engineer \ hardware support role and relocated to Santa Rosa Memorial to install and support the CHIMES system. Installed, maintained and supported several Data General “mini-computers”.
1984 – 1995 Continued to support CHIMES as well as PC’s and the emerging client-server environment on the Novell platform.
1995 – 2001 Served as the IS Site Manager for Santa Rosa Memorial during which time the Meditech system was deployed.
2001 – 2002 Transitioned to Perot Systems and served as the Site Director for the St Joseph Health Foundation Sonoma Co. until that entity was dissolved.
2002 – 2010 Continued with Perot Systems as a Business Analyst at Petaluma Valley Hospital and Santa Rosa Memorial. Was a key player in the implementation of Meditech at PVH.
2010 – 2017 Transitioned back to the St Joseph Health system serving as a Senior IT Analyst for SJH Sonoma. Oversaw many new construction projects as well as the deployment of new systems in radiology and cardiology among others.
2017 – 2019 Transitioned as part of the Providence St. Joseph Health integration to current role as a Sr. Project Manager, PPMO Intake.
