Starting this spring and at our last IS town hall, we shared the new organization model for IS that will enable us to support the emerging areas of strategic growth for PSJH and support how IS digitally enables our Health 2.0 strategies and our system vision of Health for a Better World.
This means creating an organization with PSJH-spanning “horizontals” that support common IT functions across all lines of business, like the infrastructure and architecture that TEO provides or that our PPMO provides, but also designing new specialized “verticals” that support areas of the business with very unique needs or emerging areas of strategic focus for PSJH.
When we last shared this evolved organization model for IS, we had “to-be-hired” leaders indicated for two of these new vertical orgs – Administrative IS functions supporting groups like HR and Finance, as well as the new Strategic Technology Enablement function supporting emergent areas of business focus for PSJH. Similarly, we had a “to-be-hired” leader identified for the Strategies and Project Management Office horizontal org, as well as a “developing area” indicated for leadership of our emerging work to build IS capacity in India.
We are pleased to announce the hire of three of these leaders.
Doug Lewis – GVP IS Administrative Technologies
Doug spent 22 years with Microsoft, leading IT transformations in numerous roles across engineering and program management. Most recently, Doug served as managing director at Wallero Technologies, a software consulting firm. He’s also the founder of LiveEdge Labs, a leadership coaching consultancy. Doug will join us on Aug. 19.
Ivette de Rubens – GVP IS Strategies and Project Management Office
Ivette joins us from Microsoft, where she held various director-level roles for the past five years, most recently supporting business management of their commerce and ecosystems operations. Prior to that, she was a senior consultant with Caiman Consulting. She has also been active with Seattle’s FareStart charity. Ivette will join us on Sept. 3.
Chris Briggs – GVP Strategic Technology Enablement
Chris most recently has led the IS Business & Consulting Services function, inclusive of the PPMO function, which Ivette will now be leading. Prior to that as VP of Administrative & Management Services, Chris oversaw business functions for IS, including strategic planning, operating/capital budgeting, and operational improvement initiatives. When he started with PSJH over eight years ago, he began in project and program management roles, moving on to serve as CIO chief of staff. Chris will begin transitioning into his new role on Sept. 3.
In the next few weeks, CIO B.J. Moore and our IS executive leadership team will be working to develop transition plans for our PPMO and other functions moving from Chris to Ivette and to better determine the staffing needs of the two new verticals we are establishing under Doug and Chris. Transitions of some caregivers from groups like Enterprise Business Applications and Healthcare Intelligence into the new Doug- and Chris-led verticals may take place in August and September. Our leadership team is committed to making these transitions as smooth as possible.
Please help us in welcoming Doug and Ivette and in congratulating Chris on his exciting new role.
