First Hill North Tower Construction Updates – August 2024

North Tower’s below ground walls are taking shape!

Noticeable progress on the underground exterior walls continues at the site, as waterproofing, scaffold, and sprayed concrete have been added along the perimeter. With some sections of the walls completed, scaffolding will be dismantled in these areas. Blockout openings, which can be used for doors or pipes, are being added, as well as embeds, or steel plates with studs placed for other items to be welded on to them. Concrete was poured for ramp walls for parking garage levels E and D, and crews have continued headway on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing lines.

Work commenced on the tunnel leading from Minor Avenue to the future Block 95, and progress will continue throughout the year. Tunnel drain lines will be placed, followed by concrete slab, and walls over the coming months.

As construction at Marion Garden progresses, crews have started installation of reinforcing bars and inserts for foundations. Concrete slabs were also poured for entryway foundations.

We are delighted to share continued developments of North Tower and showcase the work of the incredible team supporting the project.   For more information about the First Hill North Tower project, visit this site or email NorthTowerComms@providence.org.
