Lower-level work commences at the North Tower site!
Perimeter work for underground exterior walls is progressing. Crews are installing waterproofing, temporary scaffolding, and rebar mats. The mats are placed in preparation for spraying concrete (shotcrete) walls and will reinforce the strength of the walls. Key foundational and wall work is also underway for the parking garage ramp, and filling of the excavated area behind the building foundations continues.
Demolition of the Marion Garden area started on July 15, with minimal impacts to caregivers. Located adjacent to the main surgery and doctor’s garage entrance, teams installed filters and fans to ensure proper filtration. This will be the location of the Marion Garden North Tower entry vestibule. Demolition, foundation, and core construction of the area is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Across town, North Tower project team members gathered alongside their local Seattle peers for a volunteering event in the West Seattle area on June 26. The group generously donated their time to improvements at a nearby Providence facility – painting the Mount St. Vincent parking lot. Mount St. Vincent is an adult care community, empowering residents with varying levels of service needs and routines. We are thrilled to see devotion to enriching the Providence Swedish community shared across the ministries.
With the formation of the first underground walls underway, we are eager to witness the visible progress of the North Tower building. Future critical milestones and developments of this tremendous structure will continue to be communicated throughout the evolution of the project.
