St. Vincent Knight Pavilion Remodeling Project

See the results of the six-month makeover and learn about meaningful touches in the beautiful new space.

PROVIDENCE ST. VINCENT MEDICAL CENTER – On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the doors of the Knight Pavilion opened once again, revealing a sleek and rejuvenating new space for our community. After six months of construction, the remodeling project is complete.

“We couldn’t be happier with the results of this project,” says Sherri Kulink, Providence St. Vincent chief operating officer. “So many forward-thinking people came together to bring this vision to life and create a beautiful space to better serve our growing community.”

Funded by the Providence St. Vincent Foundation in honor of Phil and Penny Knight’s transformative contributions, the remodeled lobby includes improvements to the entryway, Cafe West and the waiting room. The information desk is also closer to the front door, giving patients and visitors faster and more efficient help with wayfinding.

Creating a soothing and peaceful atmosphere was a top priority. Right away, you’ll notice the space is brighter with calming colors and a translucent glass partition to give people in the waiting room extra privacy.

The most stunning feature is the Healing Garden mural. Ministry leaders and designers consulted with the Native American Youth and Family Center, (NAYA), to depict plants that are native to the land Providence St. Vincent is built on. Plants like white sage, Oregon grape and cottonwood have medicinal properties and illustrate our Mission of healing. The mural in Café West includes amaranth, squash and nettle – native plants that provide nutrition. This art is a tribute to the land and the tribes who once lived here.

Spiritual care director Father Freddy Ocun offered a blessing for the new space, setting a hopeful intention for those we serve and employ.

“My hope is that all who will come to and through this space, experience God’s love, peace, joy and the compassion and steadfastness of our caregivers,” says Father Freddy Ocun.

The Knight Pavilion entrance will be open 24/7. The Main entrance to the hospital will return to being open 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
