Electrical Certification Program

We are delighted to share the new electrical certification program! Nine caregivers from Covenant Medical Center, Covenant Children’s Hospital, Covenant Health Levelland, and Grace Surgical Hospital have recently started their 10-week electrical certification program through South Plains College. The curriculum, led by Master Electrician with 30 years of experience in healthcare electrical field, covers a range of topics including basic electrical knowledge, safety and hazards, electrical systems and components, how electricity flows through the system, and how to run a conduit. Classes are exclusive to summer sessions and are two days each week.

Providence is proud to offer this complimentary course thanks to the tremendous support of the Covenant Health team, Senior Director Clinical Education Alicia Anger and Program Manager Catherine Albano, and Texas Workforce Solutions, who aligned on distribution of the Texas Funded Upskills grant. Development of the program would not have been a possibility without further support from Dr. Ben Alexander (Executive Director of the Lubbock Career and Technical Center and Workforce Development – South Plains College), Diana Malone (Master Electrician and Electrical Program Instructor – South Plains College), and Reggie Dial (Founder and Executive Director East Lubbock Ran Owned Business Initiative).
