The May IS & RESO Open Forum provided project updates on WoWs deployment and Hope Tower in Lubbock, we also recognized caregivers for milestones and awards.
Thank you to everyone who joined our May 23 IS & RESO Open Forum. Attendance was great, with over 1,600 caregivers joining live. Our next Hybrid Open Forum will be Wednesday, June 19 from Anaheim. We hope to see SoCal caregivers in person; look for details in your inbox. All caregivers should all have an appointment from BJ in your calendar for the event.
May Open Forum Highlights
- Thank you, Chris Briggs, GVP, Clinical Technology Services (CTS), and Steve Ellithorpe, exe. director, enterprise CTS, for providing a reflection on the history of clinical engineering and the work of healthcare technology caregivers as we celebrate Healthcare Technology Management Week. - BJ’s EVP/CIO update included:
- Strong first quarter financial performance – our strategies are yielding results
- President/CEO Rod Hochman, MD retirement
- Expanded role with Tegria
- Hybrid Open Forum in June, BJ and other execs will be in-person
- Caregivers with 40-year milestones this May were recognized: Helena Stringer, supervisor, CRCA ambulatory applications, and Thomas Woody, EVS technician, Swedish First Hill.
- BJ and Ivette de Rubens congratulated Whitney Daws for her system-wide Nursing Award in the category of Nursing Informatics, Technology, Analytics & Telehealth.
- Reminder: Q2 SMIle Award nominations are open through June 13.
- We’re continuing our year of human connection with monthly Open Forums; three more hybrid Open Forums remain this year.
- Chris Briggs introduced Jeff Minnerly, AVP, service engineering, who spoke to our deployment of 3,000 new Workstation on Wheels (WoWs) by July 2024. Special clinical guest, Erika Enquist, nursing director, Swedish First Hill, chimed with her experience at Swedish and the improvements it’s made for nurses, physicians, and others.
- Mike Denney, GVP, Real Estate Strategy & Operations (RESO), introduced Andrew Haslam, Central Division chief real estate officer, to provide an update on Hope Tower in Lubbock. Phase one of Hope Tower opened in March 2024 providing 89 new beds. The ministry serves a 62-county geography.
- Loriann Duffy, executive director, RESO operational excellence, and Doug Lewis, GVP, Administrative Technologies, provided an update on our new caregiver experience survey strategy and recent focus group feedback themes.
