High School Students Explore Career Opportunities at Covenant Medical Center

Eleven students from Lubbock Independent School District’s (LISD) Vocational Transition Center recently embarked on a transformative tour of Covenant Medical Center, designed to expose them to a diverse array of career pathways within the healthcare industry. Led by dedicated guides Chris Gould, Senior Director Environment of Care, Kelly Flippen, Senior Director Environment of Care, and Cindi Kenady, Senior Director Environment of Care, along with other caregivers like Logan Bloodworth, Senior Manager EVS and Jaren Olive, EVS Supervisor from the EVS team, the tour offered hands-on experiences and insightful discussions across four different departments.

The tour served as a vital component of the students’ vocational training, equipping them with firsthand knowledge and experiences to prepare for future employment opportunities. Beyond the scheduled agenda, additional caregivers generously volunteered their time to ensure the students received a comprehensive understanding of the various roles within the hospital.
