Nancy Krzemien, evs technician – Providence Milwaukie Hospital – Milwaukie, Oregon

Nancy is our “Jack of all trades” she goes above and beyond for our patients, hospital, and caregivers. She is our HRO coach and takes safety and compassion for all seriously, and lives our mission on a daily basis. Nancy is the one I can count on to volunteer for all the extra projects we have, and she is always so elated to be utilized. Constantly coming to me with ideas on how to solve issues, and best ways to support her co-workers. We are blessed to have this gem. ~ Tina Bergholm – evs manager

Juan R Villarreal and Eliot Reyes, painter – Covenant Medical Center – Lubbock, Texas

Richard and Eliot are a part of our regional trades team. They have been involved in a project here in Hobbs for a couple of months now and are doing a stellar job. That deserves its own recognition, but what I am more thankful for is the hands-on teaching and training to my new facilities caregivers. Richard and Eliot are eager to share their knowledge freely to teach and grow others. ~ Paul Richards – operatons manager

Zachary Hughes, security officer and Sgt. Dave Gibler, security supervisor– Providence Alaska Medical Center – Anchorage, Alaska

On Thursday 4-11-2024 security responded to the cafeteria for a report of a theft. During the interaction with the suspect, the suspect threatened security. Later in the day we were advised by law enforcement the suspect had a warrant for his arrest. On 4-12-2024 we again responded the Labor and Delivery where the suspect and significant other were using illicit substances. We contacted law enforcement before we made contact based on the seriousness of the suspect’s warrant and the threat to security the day prior. Law enforcement arrived and the suspect subsequently resisted arrest. Thankfully both law enforcement and security were able to restrain the suspect who was attempting to retrieve what was later identified and a loaded handgun under the pillow. Due to the swift action of both law enforcement and security we were able to ensure the safety of our caregivers, patients and hospital patrons. ~ Sgt. Eli Price – senior education program coordinator

Michelle Hughes, senior facilities coordinator– Covenant Medical Center – Lubbock, Texas

Swedish First Hill Maintenance Planner, Michelle Hughes (Shelly) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer for the second time in late 2023 and has undergone several major surgeries. To this day she has been very upbeat and positive, always willing to help her peers with whatever the task may be. While recovering from her last surgery, Shelly with her dedication to Swedish has continued to stay plugged in assigning, completing and closing work orders and just flat out getting after the team to finish their work orders via emails. This last month while Shelly has been working from home, we managed to get a 100% completion on all compliance/regulatory work orders. This isn’t the first time we have achieved 100%, our current average completion rate is 98%. This was a great team effort driven by Shelly’s dedication to excellence, compassion, and integrity. Job well done. ~ Dan Stokes – facilities manager
