This week (3/11) we started the move-in of patients into Hope Tower from existing units within Covenant Medical Center. With the guidance of Debby Matheny as our transition planner, she partnered with our Safety Team (Cindi, Josh & Heather) and Post-Occupancy DCM (Jesse) to establish a command center and daily debrief to track issues and resolve concerns. At the time of writing they have completed 3 significant moves and each one gets better than the last by continuing reviewing process and gaps and closing them up for the next moves. Our clinical leaders have also been great partners in carrying out safe & efficient moves. Great example of excellent preparation and processes by the RESO team. ~ Mike Siwek – recreational therapist

Logan, Amber, and Jaren lead their EVS team in preparing for the move into our new Hope Tower. After many delays with the opening, we finally were able to move in, however, it was during Spring Break when many were off. Their team rallied together to prepare the rooms for moving into 3 new patient care floors and 2 other internal patient care unit moves. Last month this same team was instrumental in our successful TJC survey in which the surveyors were impressed the cleanliness of our hospital. Dora always makes sure that her employees are ok at work. Checking in on us seeing if there is anything that we need from her outside of work. Savannah Richardson: Leads her team with excellence and has the trust of all her employees. She always has her teams back and is always thinking of their safety. She will take a patient if she has concerns and is not afraid to get her hands dirty to help her team.
Jessica Pronk: Helps her team with anything they need. She is always offering to help with any situation and help her team to take shifts if they need someone. She is friendly and charismatic and greets patients with a smile.

Iliana has been a great representation of what it means to work in EVS she has great attendance and is reliable. Any area she works in is very clean after she has been there. Anytime she has finished her area she checks in with us to see if others need any help. The week of March 11 was very busy at Covenant Medical Center with the opening of Hope Tower and the need to quickly flip the vacated floors for re-occupancy. Calls went out to leaders at Covenant Children’s and Grace Surgical for help and the named caregivers all stepped up and provided much needed assistance in making it all happen. Violeta Ortiz, associate evs technician – Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital – Santa Rosa, California
Violeta receives rave reviews from the majority of the patients and caregivers on 1C. Just recently she was off on LOA I happened to be doing rounds, several patients and caregivers, asked about Violeta. I told them that she was doing okay, and I would let her know that she is truly missed by everyone. Patients and staff members spoke about how well she keeps the area clean and her great customer service. They also informed me that they can tell when she’s not working. I asked them to further elaborate, they stated it’s just a different feeling when Violeta is working. ~ Maurice Allen – director evs
