The Table of the King is a cherished tradition to celebrate Blessed Émilie Gamelin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence. Émilie dedicated a room in her family’s house to feeding less-fortunate neighbors. She would serve them soup and bread at what she called the Table of the King. We honor her on the anniversary of her death – Sept. 23. As Sept. 23 is on a Saturday this year, the organization will celebrate on Friday, Sept. 22.
Learn more about Blessed Emilie’s life and how it illuminates our Mission today in this video reflection featuring Sister Susanne Hartung, SP, chief mission officer with the North Division; and Dougal Hewitt, executive vice president and chief mission and sponsorship officer.
