Following the successful St. Joseph Health Meditech to Epic EHR conversion completed in March 2022 with the Epic go-live for the Texas region, Healthcare Intelligence (HI) is sunsetting all IBM Cognos Analytics reporting on September 30, 2022. The Cognos system and infrastructure will be decommissioned on October 31, 2022.
The sunset team performed a detailed analysis of existing reporting requirements to develop a plan to migrate legacy Meditech Data Repository (MDR) from the SJH EDW to the Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW). Additionally this will achieve significant cost savings and simplifies overall reporting platform portfolio.
Why
Amalga/SJH EDW is currently unsupported and running on aging servers. The current system cannot be upgraded onto any of our modern platforms and is an increasing operational and security risk to its resident data. The vendor support for Cognos legacy servers stops in 2023, and must move from legacy systems to Providence system standard solutions.
