Did you know that IS has a dedicated team driving test and automation initiatives across the organization to improve efficiency, save time, reduce cost, and minimize errors? 

The Quality Engineering Center of Excellence, also known as the QE team, is committed to quality and dedicated to achieving technical excellence. Their mission is to drive the acceleration of Providence’s digital transformation journey through modern engineering practices, focusing on expanding test automation for end-to-end business processes where automation can make the biggest impact. 

The QE team’s large menu of service offerings includes: 

Accomplishments over the past year 

The QE team successfully delivered on key milestones associated with its Quick Wins Program in 2021, as well as highlighted the areas of accessibility testing, performance testing, and functional testing. Through its partnership with the IS pillars, the team was able to automate the Security Policy Audit, Windows yearly update, Project Online test data creation, and CDW code validation.  

Looking ahead 

The QE team continues to expand on its strategy by partnering with other pillars across the organization, identifying high-value targets and increasing its capability to communicate business impacts through reports and dashboards. In addition, QE will be launching an awareness campaign of targeted educational events, such as virtual lunch and learns and QE Automation Hackathon sessions to spotlight our service offerings. These will give the QE team an opportunity to introduce its members and offerings, and how it can add value to the work of partners across IS.
