Update Apple iOS by Feb. 21 to Keep Accessing Providence Data

Apple devices used to access Providence data must be updated to the latest iOS version, 15.2, before February 21, 2022. On Feb. 22, if you have not updated your Apple device to iOS 15.2.1 the device will lose access to Providence data.

Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads and iPods require regular updates to maintain compatibility and security compliance.

For continued access to Providence data using your Apple device, you must update to iOS 15.2 before Feb. 21. IS is not able to remotely update a caregiver’s device.

Update your Apple device in three easy steps

  1. Launch Settings > General > then tap Software Update.
  2. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now.

3. Verify the update on your Apple device. Launch Settings > General > Software Update. The screen should display iOS 15.2. If the current software version is not iOS 15.2, please try to update the device again.

Until you update to iOS 15.2, you may see “iOS Update Warning” when trying to access applications on your Apple device. You may tap the OK button to continue opening the application. Please remember if your Apple device is not updated to iOS 15.2 on Feb. 22, the device will lose access to Providence data.

What if a Providence Apple device won’t update?

Some company-owned iOS devices are end of life and cannot support newer iOS versions or newer versions of Epic and other mobile applications. If you can’t update your device, please read knowledge base article KB0075812 in the IS ServiceNow portal.

Older Apple devices are scheduled for replacement and will be exempted from the update requirement. More information will be shared at a later date.

Note: The only iPod touch compatible with the latest iOS version is the 7th generation iPod.
