In line with the system-wide effort, Information Services is introducing a redesigned New Caregiver Orientation (NCO) experience created to be fully virtual, self-paced, and hosted in the Rise platform. The goal is to help enable success early in-role, connect new caregivers to our Mission and strategy, and ease their way.
Replacing the current monthly, day-long, PowerPoint-driven session, the new IS onboarding will be available on-demand, 24×7, to be completed within the first 30 days of hire. This represents a very significant improvement in quality and relevance of content as well as delivering in a way that can be better absorbed and applied by new hires – not “drinking from a fire hose” with hours of intensive PowerPoint slides.
A welcome message will be sent to our newly-onboarded caregivers from the PSJHIS.ONBOARDING@providence.org alias, inviting them to review the IS training offerings, with their core leaders copied for visibility. The welcome message will provide the instructions on how to access the training and include the link to our, “Virtual IS Orientation Buddies” to help answer questions.
