This month, OneTeam introduces a new, hands-on class format for Excel training, shares a new product feature for Word and Outlook currently rolling out across Providence, and gives caregivers a way to help their peers become productive.
November trainings and new Excel class format
Join a OneTeam training to learn how to better utilize the productivity and collaboration tools at Providence. Check out the November training calendar for a full schedule of classes including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel and more.
This month we are excited to announce we will be offering a hands-on workshop, Excel: Visualizing with Charts. This new format allows attendees to get hands on experience as they follow the trainer’s step-by-step instructions in real time. Please join us as we explore simple and effective ways to create chart visualization using Excel data.
Be an Agent for Change!
Do you enjoy learning new tools and helping others be more productive? Consider joining the Modern Workplace Change Agent Network. This volunteer-based group of caregivers across Providence stays in the know about Modern Workplace tools (M365 apps and more). They also teach and assist others and share the news about OneTeam current projects and initiatives. Attend a Change Agent Network Orientation in November for more information.
New feature in SharePoint
Collapsible sections in SharePoint provide the ability to fit more content on a page and also limit scrolling. This feature includes multiple controls to provide you more flexibility on your SharePoint pages and works well for Q&A sections and more.
New feature in Word and Outlook
More natural-sounding voices in Read Aloud are now available in Word and Outlook. Use it to “proof-listen” to a document or an email to catch errors, or simply to give your eyes a break.
Microsoft products and service updates (patches)
Monthly updates for Microsoft applications, also called patches, focus on improving the overall functionality of operating systems and fixing any bugs. For caregivers who are interested, we’re sharing highlights from Microsoft about the patches that were released in October across all major versions of Windows 10, ranging from Windows 10 v1507 to Windows 10 v20H2.
October updates include:
- Fixes for 74 flaws.
- Fixes for four zero-day vulnerabilities, with a Win32k Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability known to have been actively exploited in attacks.
- Microsoft also fixed three other publicly-disclosed vulnerabilities that are not known to have been exploited in attacks.
See Monthly Updates for more details.
