Microsoft 365 Groups are Here

IS OneTeam is pleased to announce our transition from traditional Microsoft Outlook distribution lists (DLs) to Microsoft 365 Groups. Microsoft 365 Groups work with the Microsoft 365 tools you already use, so you can collaborate with caregivers across multiple applications. Groups are also an easy way to send emails. All Office 365 licensed caregivers can now create and manage their own 365 Groups without opening a service ticket. Never had a traditional distribution list? That’s okay, you can still use 365 Groups!

Benefits of using 365 Groups

When you create your 365 Group, you will automatically be equipped with the following:

  • Shared Inbox – For email conversations between group members
    • This inbox has an email address and can be set to accept messages from people outside the group and outside your organization, much like a traditional distribution list.
  • Shared Calendar – For scheduling events related to the group
  • SharePoint Document Library – A central place for the group to store and share files
  • Shared OneNote Notebook – For gathering ideas, research, and information
  • SharePoint Team Site – A central repository for information, links and content relating to your group
  • Planner – For assigning and managing project tasks among group members

There is no need to manually create any of these resources. Creating the group automatically builds them for you and assigns the necessary permissions for your group members so they can start using the resources right away.
