Most of us have set up security questions and answers in the Identity & Access Management (IAM) portal to make it easier for us when calling the AskIT IS Service Desk and having to verify our identity. This means no longer needing to provide the last four digits of their social security number (SSN) or date of birth to verify their identity. Some 80,000 caregivers, mostly clinical ones, have not yet taken this critical step.
Starting next week, targeted email communications will be sent every four weeks to caregivers who have not yet set up these security questions and answers. Their core leaders will also receive communications about their need to complete this important security requirement.
The Security Questions & Answers are part of IS standard security protocol and are used to quickly and easily verify your identity when our caregivers need support. When you call the AskIT IS Service Desk for network access and/or password issues, caregivers are asked several of the Security Questions to verify identity before they can proceed with assisting us.
If you or your partners receive one of these reminders to set up your Questions & Answers
Prior to June 1, 2021, please set up your Security Questions & Answers at https://iam.providence.org. You must be connected to the Providence network in the office or via VPN.
You and your core leader will receive an automated email monthly, until you have established your Questions & Answers.
