Xerox Partnership and Device Inventory

Providence is proud to partner with Xerox as our printer and print service provider, a next step in our transition to a Modern Workplace, modernizing and standardizing our printer infrastructure.

Working with Xerox, IS will ensure that our clinics, hospitals, and offices are updated, refreshed, and optimized with new print technology. The first step in this process is to inventory all existing devices, including printers, copiers, scanners, faxes, and multifunctional machines.

When is this happening?

The entire print optimization project is running from November 2020 through 2023.

Why is this happening?

This will standardize the infrastructure and technology, automate printer security and management, and enhance the caregiver experience. The new devices have increased print speeds and larger paper capacity. They are also easier to use, more efficient, and feature monitoring software that proactively identifies equipment issues such as low toner, no paper, and maintenance needs. All these enhancements ensure less downtime and minimal job disruption for our caregivers.

Benefits

  • Simplified infrastructure for all printing, including Epic
  • Machines that print faster
  • Environmental cost savings
  • Less down time and job disruption

What do I need to do?

No action is necessary. Based on the phased plan below, you may notice some initial printer-related activities such as conducting an in-person inventory of existing devices. To minimize disruption to caregivers during the transition from old to new print devices, ongoing communications with instructions and updates will be distributed regionally.
