Today Friday, January 7, 2021, we had three of our young adult interns briefly introduce themselves in our monthly Open Forum.
Next month, we’ll meet two of the interns and let them tell you about their education and life journey, as well as the IS projects they are working on.
- Alexecia Lim supports multiple projects within IS TEO Network Services and focuses on collaboration between various teams.
- Her skills range from building training materials, resource matrixes, and process documents to producing and tracking metrics for purchase process.
- She’s a Software Development & Testing student in the Year Up program at Seattle Central College. She has a prior background in healthcare, where she worked for two years before Year Up.
- Her career goal is to get a degree in computer science and work in software testing.
- Fun fact, she’s a first-generation Asian-American in her family.
- Tammy Trinh is currently interning within the IS Security Operations department, working on firewall, websites, and VPN-related issues/incidents.
- Currently working on her Bachelor’s in Information Technology at University of Washington Tacoma, with a specialization in cybersecurity.
- Fun Fact: Currently working on a IoT Research Project at UWT regarding air pollution.
- Unsure of what information security path to take, so trying a little bit of everything to find a career path for herself.
- Dylan Merkel supports IS Security Engineering Operations and the cyber team. Part of his daily routine includes investigating phishing emails to determine if they are malicious, assisting caregivers in account lockouts by finding the cause, and helping in general security investigations.
- Graduated from Clackamas community college with a General AS and went to Mt. Hood Community College for his cybersecurity/networking degree.
- Has lived in the Portland area his entire life and enjoys traveling. Loves soccer, especially playing the goalie position.
- Would like to continue to develop cybersecurity/networking skills and would like the opportunity to work for Providence.
