Recommitting to Caregiver Engagement and Survey Follow-Up in 2020

Building on 2019 IS Caregiver Engagement Committee efforts, B.J. Moore, CIO, and his executive leadership team are reaffirming their commitment to addressing Caregiver Experience Survey feedback over the year ahead.

With former executive sponsor Adam Dial, SVP of Community Technologies, transitioning with his team out of IS, this work will be picked up by and overseen in 2020 by Doug Lewis, GVP, Administrative Technology. Doug has even brought onboard a new program manager, John Lee, reporting to him, to help drive these efforts.

Doug shares, “I’m excited to kick off a new year of caregiver engagement work within IS, building on the 2018-2019 efforts, with a new committee, Mission at the forefront, and more support for this committee of caregivers who will serve as advisors to our executive leadership.”

For 2020, some of this IS executive team sponsored workaround caregiver engagement has included:

  • Listening sessions to gather feedback from outgoing 2018-2019 IS Caregiver Engagement Committee members, incoming committee members, and other key stakeholders, who have a combined total of almost 300 years of experience within PSJH.
  • Nomination of new IS Caregiver Engagement Members by IS leadership for 2020-2021 service. See the list for which caregiver members represent your functional area of IS.
  • Planning for a series of B.J. Moore-hosted “fireside chats” with his peer high-level executive leaders to learn more about our strategic direction as an organization and address Caregiver Experience Survey feedback from 2019 that our caregivers could feel better-connected to system leadership.

“I want to acknowledge the work that got underway in 2018 and 2019, as we’ll be building on that and collected great insights from those who served their term on the past committee,” says Doug.

2018-2019 IS Caregiver Engagement Committee progress included:

  • Launch of an IS mentorship program
  • Piloting of program to help new IS caregivers onboard with a hospital visit launched
  • Caregiver Experience Survey results improvement, year over year

Don’t hesitate to reach out to Doug or John with any questions or IS caregiver engagement questions or thoughts you may have. We’ll continue to share more about the Committee’s work in the coming months.
